Flavour: delicately tart
Texture: juicy, firm flesh
Availability: mid-October - mid-June
Usage: suitable for juice, cakes, and applesauce

The Idared variety is very productive and, especially in Eastern Europe, it’s used as more than just a cooking apple. Otherwise, Idared plays a more modest role for us and has lost some of its popularity over time.
